The Morro Bay Book Discussion Group is a free program of the Morro Bay Library.
We are made up of a community of readers and students of life interested in
learning and exploring, who come together to discuss books, and watch & discuss movies.
Come to any or all sessions!
Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. – Noon
If you like the idea of discussing books you have just read or just
want to learn more about a book before you read it, this is the place to be.
Each 1st & 3rd Wednesday participants will have a chance to read and discuss anything from the latest
bestsellers, classics, traditional literature, and historical fiction, mysteries or non-fiction books.
Join us in animated and thoughtful discussion as we explore a variety of diverse and interesting books.
Each 2nd Wednesday (“Special Topics” day)
we will discuss books that make us think!
The expectation is not that you will read the book cover to cover (although you are certainly encouraged to), but that you will consider the
essence of the message of the book and be ready to discuss that message.
All Wednesdays Programs meet at the
Morro Bay Library.
4th Fridays from 10:00 a.m. – Noon
The 4th Fridays Mystery Readers group meets once a month.
We read and discuss a wide spectrum of mysteries, thrillers and suspense
novels. Interested lovers of mysteries are encouraged to come and discuss
murder, mayhem and crime!
The 4th Fridays Mystery Readers group will meet most 4th Fridays of the month from 10 a.m. – noon.
All 4th Fridays Mystery Readers Programs meet at the
Morro Bay Library.
4th Wednesdays @ the Movies at 10:00 a.m.
Most 4th Wednesdays beginning at 10:00 a.m. we will show a movie and spend time discussing it afterwards. We
hope those of you who love joining us each Wednesday to discuss a good book, will also enjoy the idea of
watching a good film and discussing it with others as well!
Download this year's list of movie dates and descriptions above!
All 4th Wednesdays @ the Movies programs meet at the
